Discovering Indonesia through the island's culinary treats

One of my favorite travels back in 2016 when I went to attend a conference in Bali, Indonesia gave me a chance to relish the amazing food heaven i.e. Indonesia. Every island of Indonesia has a specific flavor to its cuisine. I got a chance to indulge in the best food, thanks to my friend in based Jakarta. Also, this side of the world has some amazing tropical fruits so full of flavor and color.
Sharing a few glimpses of the food, I drool even when I see the pictures :)
The first on my list is the Padang food
This includes vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. The green leafy vegetables were most delicious and the eggs, meat even more delectable .. Couldn't resist the flavor and I ended up eating so much of Padang meals while in Bali and Jakarta. Each store has their own flavor and specialty, the below images will speak a thousand words ...or say I am hungry !!
Indulging the fresh seafood
With the proximity to the sea, the sea food varieties are unbelievable and if you are in Bali you should definitely try the crabs. The food scene is diverse given the Malay, Thai and Chinese influence as a large immigrant population resides in the country. While I was able to enjoy most of it, I still missed out on the food from the Java and Sumatra islands, I heard the spices vary a bit, mostly Bali spices. I have added some pictures here, you can see it to believe it!
Treating yourself to the delicious street food
The food journey is incomplete without the savoring the amazing street food - it’s a riot of fresh flavors and they are very generous in their servings... They are found in every nook and corners be it the rich suburbs or the crowded markets...The chicken porridge and rice cakes with a coconut curry are the most common street food items in the region. Indonesia is also a great place to enjoy beef meat, a variety of food is prepared with the meat.
That's it from me from my Indonesian food journey, I still dream of going back, I hope I do soon for discovering more food …
